Alan Larkin is an owner/Director who specialises in family law. He is a long standing member of Resolution (First for Family Law), Resolution Accredited Specialist (Preparing and Presenting cases in Court and Children Law) and Collaborative Lawyer.
A recognised expert in the field of family law, Chambers UK 2015 says: “Alan is commended for his extensive experience in financial remedy work. Commentators state that he has a great way about him, a superb manner with clients and great attention to detail.”
Chambers 2014 said: “Alan deals predominantly with complex financial remedy cases. One client highlights his “cool head and sound judgement – and on top of that he’s a kind, caring, compassionate man as well.”identified Alan as a key individual who is “very intelligent and easy to deal with”.
Alan specialises in finances following a relationship breakdown, whether by separation, divorce, or dissolution of civil partnership and contentious probate work.
Alan was integrally involved in the financial management of the regional firm he was with prior to setting up Family Law Partners including financial performance and targets for the department.
Before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1997 Alan worked with the Merseyside Probation Service and was the Manager of the Toxteth Victims’ Support Scheme between 1983 and 1987. He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 joining a Legal 100 firm in the South East and becoming a partner there in 2004, later becoming acting head of the family team.
Alan’s practice also extends to Inheritance Act matters where there are challenges to the financial provision in Wills for spouses or children, and contentious probate.
Outside of work he enjoys time with his family, independent cinema, literature and urban cycling.
