Coaching

December 20, 2014

Coaching is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. It is a creative process which inspires the client to maximise their personal and professional potential.  Ccoaches help clients set and reach goals using a variety of tools and techniques

Coaching draws inspiration from disciplines including sociology, psychology, positive adult development, career counselling, NLP, mentoring and other types of counselling.

When we have difficult changes to make, coaching can help set goals and aims which can assist us through these times.  By asking questions a coach can gauge where we want to be in the future and then help us to discover reasonable ways of getting there.  This sometimes needs to be in very small steps so as not to be discouraging.

Coaching is a forward thinking process.  It is more directive than therapy.  It can help to clarify a situation and bring new ways of coping with distress and difficulties.
