Julian is a Partner at Dean Wilson LLP and Head of the Family Department. Julian qualified as a Solicitor in 1998 and has specialised in Family Law ever since, becoming one of the first Solicitors in the area to become a trained Collaborative Family Lawyer. Julian is also a trained Mediator.
A leading law Directory, Chambers UK 2016, described Julian as a Leading Individual for whom the market has the ‘utmost respect’. And, for 2017 stated ‘He’s intelligent, and someone who has the ability to reassure clients. He’s a tactician and a safe pair of hands’.
Julian’s focus is on resolving, not creating conflict, encouraging negotiations and finding solution. He strives to adopt the approach which will best benefit each individual and to prepare them for life after divorce or separation.
Julian embraces the use of Family Consultants and Financial Neutrals within the Collaborative process as his experience is that this additional assistance only has positive benefits for the clients.
- acting on high value & complex divorce/separations, particularly with Trusts & pension issues
- resolving childcare disputes
- dealing with cases using the collaborative law model
- advising on pre and post nuptial agreements and living together agreements
- advising on cohabitation disputes
Julian is a thoroughbred Brightonian with strong roots in the community, regularly to be found playing cricket and golf. He is particularly proud to be Coach to the Preston Nomads Under 14’s who were crowned ECB Sussex Champions in 2015.
