Susan spent the first 15 years of her working life as a science teacher. She later studied law and trained as a solicitor and worked as a family lawyer in the Brighton area for over twenty years. She trained as a mediator in 1995 and developed her work as a family mediator alongside her legal work. Her interest in mediation grew and now includes community mediation and work place mediation.

Susan left legal work in 2013 and is now a self employed family mediator. She really believes that with the right support and information, people facing the many problems that relationship breakdown throws at them can find the confidence to make difficult decisions for themselves and their families. She enjoys working with other the other professionals in SFS to find the best team to help support people in their decision making.

Susan is a Family Mediation Council accredited mediator Ref. 0812A and can therefore conduct Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings( MIAMs). She enjoys working with children in mediation and giving them a voice. She also works as a Professional Practice Consultant PPC supporting other mediators in their mediation practice.

Susan is a member of both the FMA (Family Mediators Association) and Resolution.
