Family Consultants Training

Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October 2022 10am -4pm

Our 2 day training will help you understand what working as a Family Consultant involves.
For those coming from a therapeutic or social work background our course is designed to focus on models and skills which support our work with separating and divorcing families and to help you understand the legal proces of divorce.

For those coming from a legal background our course is designed to show you how to work with a Family Consultant, demystifying the role and helping you feel confident at introducing Family Consultant use to your clients.

It is an experiential course, where we will ask you to think about your own experiences. There will be role play and exercises to help you take what you learn and apply it to the real world.
It will also be a chance to meet other practitioners and begin to develop your own network or pod to work with.

Day 1

-What is a Family Consultant? (FC)

-Good team work and what makes it so?

-Divorce, the law and the process options.

-Advantages of using a FC for clients and other Professionals.

-Signs that can flag up the usefulness of a FC.

Day 2

-Children: Voice of the child, Child welfare, Cafcass

-How does a FC work: with a lawyer, in a 3/5-way meeting, in a one to one with clients?

-What therapeutic skills FCs use.

-How and when to include a FC.

-Next steps, building your network.

Places will be booked on a first come first served basis. We will be allocating spaces for those from a legal background and for those from a therapeutic background and we may limit attendance to one member per legal firm.

The full fee is payable upon booking.
Cancellation notice given 30 days prior to the event will receive a full refund. Less than 30 days will result in a 50% refund.

The fee for this 2 day training is £250 – Early bird fee of £200 if paid by the 1st August
